Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative (EIEC) is a member-owned utility that serves electricity to the last-mile residents of rural, east central Illinois.
EIEC is governed by a nine member board of directors. The board is made up of actual co-op members, and each represents one of nine geographical board districts. Each year at our annual meeting, three of the nine board seats are up for election. Voting for your board members is simple...simply show up at our annual meeting (usually held in June). If you can't make the meeting, you can also request a ballot (by calling us at 800-824-5102) before the annual meeting, and we will mail you one.
The board sets co-op policies and is responsible for the fiscal management of the co-op. The board then hires a President/CEO to manage the employees of the cooperative and to oversee the implementation of board policies.
EIEC is a member of the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Our driving documents include the cooperative bylaws and our regulations.
